This book is a collection of photographs from the archives of the Michiana Jewish Historical Society, the Jewish Federation of St Joseph Valley, synagogue and school archives, and individual and family donors. It has been designed to focus attention on photographs that evoke the memory and atmosphere of their times and subject matter. The images were selected for their quality, historical relevance, and interest, so you will see that not each section contains the same number of photos. There was also no attempt to give a chronological history of the region. The six sections represent the various aspects of Jewish life that, when viewed as a whole, form the fabric of the community.

We invite you to sit down with your grandparents, grandchildren, parents, children and friends and allow yourself to be swept through the memories of our ever-changing community.
